Assigning and status

Four settable statuses, each with its own color in the status ring you see throughout the app:

Change it from the Status select in a conversation’s header, from the reply composer’s “Status after send” option, or in bulk from the list view’s Status action once you’ve selected conversations.

There’s a fifth internal state, “Unknown,” but it’s a fallback you’ll never set yourself.

Status is separate from whether a conversation is a draft or has been deleted — those are tracked independently, not as status values.

The Assignee select in a conversation’s header lists everyone with access to that mailbox; the top option is always “Anyone,” meaning unassigned. Someone marked out-of-office shows an “Away” badge next to their name. The same “Anyone” + teammate list appears in the list view’s bulk Assign action.

There’s no separate “assign to me” shortcut — picking your own name from the select is how you self-assign.

If your workspace has teams set up, a Team select sits next to Assignee — pick a team, or “No team.” It’s independent of who the individual assignee is: a conversation can belong to a team, a person, both, or neither.

Snoozing hides a conversation from its usual folders until it resurfaces — it’s not a status. From the menu: Snooze… offers Later today, Tomorrow morning, Next week, or a custom date and time. A snoozed conversation lives in the Snoozed folder until then, or until you pick Unsnooze yourself.
